JOE ASHCROFT

I am a documentary filmmaker originally from the sunny shores of north-west England, but have made Asia my home for the last 13 years. Now, I am lucky enough to call the effervescent city of Los Angeles my home.

For over a decade I have been producing factual series and films across multiple genres that are consistently recognised with prestigious awards. Including being Series Edit Producer on the 2023 Daytime Emmy Nominated Series, Mind Your Manners. More recently, winning a 2026 Gold Telly Award for Ed Stafford’s Rite of Passage, where I was the Series Story Producer.
I have produced global content for some of the world’s biggest entertainment companies, channels and streamers, including: IMAX; Netflix; Nat Geo; Warner Bros Discovery; Bilibili; CGTN; and many more.

Whether it be leading the brigade in the trenches of pre-production or embedding with a camera and Singapore’s military; untangling mountains of rushes in a freezing edit suite or documenting the mysteries of the Shaolin temple; I am adept at all areas of the production process, from idea creation through to final delivery. As well as seamlessly integrating any branded content, without it ever feeling wedged in or intrusive to the flow of the film.

My strong editorial skills and east-west sensibilities enable me to elevate any series and feature that I work on, helping create wider audience engagement. I have an incredible eye for detail and always succeed in delivering on time and to budget.
